Food Should Taste Good Review and Giveaway!*CLOSED*
Food Should Taste Good Review and Giveaway!!
I was recently blessed to receive 5 bags of chips (5.5oz size) of my choosing from Food Should Taste Good for a review and giveaway. I have never tried these before but am always looking for healthier snack options. These totally fit the bill.
These are all natural tortilla chips and made from real, simple ingredients. All of their chip varieties are free of cholesterol, preservatives and trans fat, and do not use genetically modified ingredients (GMOs). They are also certified Kosher and Gluten Free, lower in sodium, and are a good source of dietary fiber. They currently have 11 flavors: Multigrain, Sweet Potato, Olive, Jalapeño, The Works!, Chocolate, Lime, Blue Corn, Cheddar, Toasted Sesame, and White Cheddar.
I chose to sample and review Multigrain, The Works!, Blue Corn, Cheddar and White Cheddar.
Multigrain-Made with flax, sunflower seeds, sesame seeds, quinoa, soy and brown rice. These definitely taste like their name. You can taste all the different flavors and they are work well together. I think these would be best suited to eat alone but I did try these with some hummus and they paired up nicely.
The Works!- Made with poppy and caraway seeds, minced garlic and onion. If you love “everything” bagels, these would be right up your alley. You can taste the poppy and caraway seeds, a bit of onion and definitely the garlic. I love garlic anything so these were GREAT. I also think these would be best suited eaten alone and not paired up with anything as the flavors in these chips are enough to satisfy.
Blue Corn- Made with organic blue corn, quinoa, flax, sunflower seeds, sesame seeds, soy and brown rice. To me, these taste just like any other blue corn tortilla chips but I really like that they are much healthier so I don't feel quite as guilty eating them. I had some of these plain and also some dipped in salsa. Both ways were great!
Cheddar-Made with cheddar cheese, quinoa, flax, sunflower seeds, sesame seeds, soy and brown rice. These are so yummy! They taste just like the Multigrain but with cheddar cheese. I love cheese so these were my favorite of all the varieties I tried. I think these would be best suited to be eaten alone or you might lose the taste of the cheese flavoring.
White Cheddar-Made with white cheddar cheese, quinoa, flax, sunflower seeds, sesame seeds, soy and brown rice. These also taste like the Multigrain variety but with white cheddar cheese. I really liked these as well but not as well as the regular cheddar. I think these would be best suited to eat alone as well or you might lose the taste of the cheese flavoring.
I loved how fresh and crisp all of the chips were. All of the 5 varieties I tried were 140 calories for 1oz(approx. 9 chips) so definitely calorie friendly. The best part, other than how great they all tasted, was that I had no idea I was eating something healthy that contained flax and soy. Usually healthier options, especially snack items, don't taste good but these certainly do! These would be a perfect addition to the upcoming BBQ season or a just because snack. I will be adding these to my shopping list in the future and would recommend these to anyone who loves snack foods but is maybe looking for a healthier option or someone who eats solely gluten free or all organic.
