About Peeled Snacks:
In New York City in 2004, Noha Waibsnaider founded Peeled Snacks when she noticed something missing from the world of snack foods. Store shelves were full of processed potato chips, corn syrup-filled candy, and energy bars made with too many mysterious ingredients. But you couldn't get anything healthy and tasty that made you feel good about snacking. So she set about to fix that problem.
Her solution? Tasty and nourishing fruit & nut mixes that became Peeled Snacks. Since then, Peeled Snacks has evolved to offer organic and all-natural gently-dried fruit in single and multi-serving packages. Peeled Snacks are made with ingredients that you recognize - large, easy-to-eat pieces of fruit that provide a natural source of vitamins, minerals and fiber - with NO sugar added.
My Thoughts:
My daughter and I were sent 4 bags of Peeled Snacks. First we tried Go Figure, which contains organic figs, organic dates and organic apricots. Even though my daughter only tasted the apricots from this collection, she really liked them. She had never had apricots before so they were completely new to her. I was surprised how good figs and dates could be. The idea of eating them doesn't sound to me like they would be good but these were. They were really sweet and not dried out at all.
Second we tried Much-ado-about-Mango, which contains only organic mangos. I am embarrassed to say that she and I scarfed this bag down in one sitting. We both LOVE mango and these were fabulous! They were sweet, not dry and tasted almost like candy. If you can't tell, these were our favorite!
Third we tried Paradise Found, which contains organic bananas, organic mangos and organic pineapples. I have never tried dried bananas before(have only tried banana chips) so I wasn't sure if I would like them. This package was our second favorite! The three flavors of the fruits combine wonderfully. Again, they were sweet and not dry. After I tried some, my daughter came along and stole the bag and finished it. :)
The final variety we got to sample was Farmers Market Trio, which contains organic apples, organic cherries and organic seedless raisins. The apples tasted so sweet and juicy, almost like candy! My daughter doesn't like cherries or raisins so she only tried the apples but they were a big hit with her! I really liked this variety as the fruits flavors blended fabulously.
Overall, these were a huge hit at my house. I love that they only contain organic fruit. There is no added sugar and are gluten free. The cost is approximately $3-4 per bag.

their Cherry-go-round and Apricot-a-lot are considered raw because the fruits are sun-dried. Other Peeled Snacks are not technically raw because the fruit is heated to temperatures of 125 degrees or higher, which is above the 118 degree requirement for raw food diets.
