Nutrisystem Week 8! #NSNation


I have been on the Nutrisystem weight loss program for 8 weeks now. 2 whole months! 

Before I get to me, have you heard some of the latest news about Nutrisystem??

1. Janet Jackson is the new spokesperson for Nutrisystem!

2. Nutrisystem has brought out a new program called SUCCESS. It's similar to the Select program but the meal plan is a little different and includes protein shakes. It also, depending on which SUCCESS plan you pick, would include new Chefs Table Collection foods. These are gourmet meals that come frozen in a steamer bag and are done in about 5 minutes in the microwave. 

3. Nutrisystem has brought out a few new foods and will be bringing out more in 2012. Some of the new foods include a chocolate frosted donut, honey wheat bagel and mini chocolate chip cookies. I CANNOT wait to try the donut and bagel! YUM!

I got the chance to sample 3 of the new Chefs Table Collection dinners recently. I got to try Moroccan Inspired Chicken, Whole Wheat Ricotta Crapes and Citrus Barbeque Glazed Pork. 

If I can be honest here for just a minute..I so WANTED to like these but I just didn't. Sorry Nutrisystem!

I loved the ease of prep which was only 5 minutes in the microwave but didn't like that the sides were co-mingled with my entree.

The Citrus Barbeque Glazed Pork would have been good but I found the sauce too spicy for my personal taste.

The Whole Wheat Ricotta Crapes...The red sauce was okay but I couldn't choke it down. Not sure what the issue was exactly as I like ricotta cheese and all but nope, just couldn't do it.

The Moroccan Inspired Chicken...spiced with chick peas and toasted almonds with spinach and cinnamon bulgur wheat. I didn't care for the spiced chicken at all, although the chicken was tender and not dry. I don't like chick peas, spinach or bulgur wheat so this was a bust for me as well. I just couldn't eat it.

Again, Nutrisystem, I am sorry! I wanted to love them, honest!


Now onto me and weekly results.

Last weeks post wasn't a good one. As you may recall, I had gained 1.8 lbs and while I was a little bummed about it, I was NOT going to let it get to me.

This week was a much better week for me. I followed the plan to a T and did not skip meals etc.

Due to last weeks 1.8lbs weight gain, I was back up to 320.6. After working hard this week, I am thrilled to report I lost that 1.8lbs and another pound on top of that. Total weekly loss of 2.8lbs, putting my current weight at 317.8.

Total loss in 2 months is 19.2lbs.

My goal for the next week is to reach 20lbs. Think I can do it?
