Flat Iron Experts - Babyliss Pro Tourmaline Curling Iron Review

Back in March, I reviewed a Babyliss Pro Flat Iron from Flat Iron Experts. They graciously offered me the chance to review another item. This time, they sent me the Babyliss Pro Tourmaline Ceramic Curling Iron. I normally flat iron my hair to keep it straight, shiny and frizz free but sometimes I want a different look and would like some curls. Prior to receiving this curling iron, I didn't have or use a curling iron.

Features of the Babyliss Pro Tourmaline Ceramic Curling Iron

  • 5 barrel sizes available (I received the 3/4" size)
  • Unique POP-IN/POP-OUT temperature control
  • Ultra-powerful heaters that provide fast, steady maximum temperatures
  • Instant heat recovery
  • 40 heat settings
  • Heats up to 428ºF(220ºC)
  • Slim rubberized handles
  • Tourmaline/Ceramic closes the hair cuticle resulting in smooth, glossy hair.
  • Tourmaline/Ceramic plus heat emits NEGATIVE IONS which eliminate static electricity and neutralize odors and bacteria.
  • Tourmaline/Ceramic barrels retain heat more efficiently, distribute it more evenly and eliminate damaging hot spots.
  • Tourmaline/Ceramic radiates faster drying FAR-INFRATED HEAT, which dries hair from the inside out, preserving more moisture within the hair shaft and causing less damage to the hair cuticle.
  • Extra long, heavy duty swivel cord
  • Dual Voltage
  • Two year warranty
One of the first things I took notice to when it first arrived, was the pop-in/pop-out temperature control. It easily pops out for easy temperature changing and just as easily pops back in and out of the way once finished. I loved how fast the curling iron heated up as well. In the past, I have used curling irons that took 5 minutes to heat up. With the Babyliss Pro, it took only a few seconds. A great feature found on this curling iron that isn't found on many cheaper and inferior products is that there are 40 heat settings with which to choose from. This allows people of all hair types to make use of one iron as well as create different looks with one iron.

I used it to curl my hair for a special occasion recently and I was amazed at the results. I washed my hair normally, let it air dry and then used a flat iron to straighten it. Then it was time to put the Babyliss Pro Curling Iron to the test. I was happy to see that it heated up to over 400 degrees because I typically need a very hot iron in order to do anything with my hair due to it's thickness and frizz. Not only was the curling iron super easy to use in all aspects, it created some of the most beautiful curls I have ever seen. Beyond the initial curls, I was shocked how long the curls lasted. With other curling irons I have used in the past, the curls looked great right after curling but within an hour or two, the curls were mostly gone. With the Babyliss Pro, the curls were still beautiful the next day.

I would highly recommend the Babyliss Pro Tourmaline Ceramic Curling Iron to anyone who wants a fabulous curling iron that is simple to use and delivers fabulous results. In fact, it's rated #2 on the Best Curling Iron list at Flat Iron Experts website. If price wasn't a factor, this curling iron would for sure be at the top of that list.

As always, be sure to use a thermal protect spray when using flat irons, curling irons and blow dryers. They protect your hair from becoming damaged from the heat. I recommend KQC Thermal Shine Spray from Flat Iron Experts. It's available for $13.99. Not only does it provide great protection against heat damage, it gives your hair a gorgeous healthy shine too.

Flat Iron Experts has a huge selection of products. They not only sell high quality, name brand flat irons, they sell blow dryers, styling products, brushes, curling irons and more.

I personally prefer the the Karmin G3 Salon Pro Clipless Curling Iron which is the best curling iron I've ever tried, it makes pretty long lasting curls, plus keeps my hair smooth and soft. Luv it ! :D
