Good Call iG1 HD Bluetooth Handset for iPhone Review Plus a #Giveaway

My iPhone and I are attached at the hip. It goes where I go. I love my iPhone as it allows me to keep my email, Facebook, Twitter etc all in one place while on the go. The only thing I don't like about my phone is talking on it. Talking on an iPhone is a real pain for me. I find myself making conversations short or having to keep switching ears. It's just not comfortable for me. So much so that I usually end up using the speaker phone option. Unfortunately, this allows anyone around me to listen to my conversations.

I have tried a couple of bluetooth headsets before but I always found them hard to use, uncomfortable in or on my ear or the sound quality of calls were terrible.

I recently received a bluetooth handset called Good Call iG1 for iPhones. It turns any iPhone 4, 4S, 3G or 3GS into a landline. Perfect for those who find talking on an iPhone an issue for whatever reason! Good Call has two models: the iG1 and the iG1 HD. Both come in white or black. I received the HD model.

Standard Features of the iG1

Make Calls via Siri / Voice Dialing - This is fabulous! With a push of a button on the handset, you can use your voice to call someone. You don't need to pick up your iPhone.

Charge and Sync iPhone - I love this feature. While your iPhone is docked, it's charging as well.

Auto Answer/Hang Up - When someone calls on your iPhone, just lift the handset and talk. No buttons to push on either the handset or iPhone!

Noise Cancelling Bluetooth Handset - Call quality is amazing. You can definitely notice the noise cancelling while talking. When using the handset, I feel like I am talking on my landline. I love it!

Easy Pairing • Volume Control - Setting up Good Call was SO EASY! With a push of a button on the handset and a push of a button on the iPhone, it was paired up and ready to use. I love that there is a volume control as well. On the handset, you can turn the volume up or down.

Dedicated On/Off Switch
4 Hours Talk Time • 4 Days Standby Time
Battery Level and Connection Status Indicator
Compatible with all Bluetooth enabled devices
iPhone multitasking enabled
Bluetooth v2.1

The footprint of the Good Call is really small so it would be a perfect fit almost anywhere. Another feature I love about this is the fact that my iPhone does NOT have to be docked in order for it to work! As long as my iPhone is in range, the Good Call handset will work with no problems.

I have found that over the last couple of days, I have been using my iPhone a lot more for actual phone calls. The handset itself is very comfortable to hold. It's a nice thin design and super lightweight. The docking station is a really nice sturdy weight. It won't easily be knocked over when pushing buttons on your iPhone while it's docked or picking up the handset to talk. The Good Call iG1 or iG1 HD would be a perfect idea if you're considering getting rid of your landline but would miss being able to use a handset. The cost of the iG1 is $79.99 while the cost of the iG1 HD is $99.99.

What a nifty gadget! I've had more than a few marathon conversations that I had to cut short because my ear or neck was getting sore.
